Some other features that I really dig on are: I am truly impressed with this jackets ability to keep you warm, dry and sweat free. The large fits my 6’2″ 180lb frame perfectly. The fit of the Nomad hits the sweet spot between the ultra baggy look of a park rat and tight technical backcountry skier steeze. During the storm days last week in LCC this shell was beading up water like a beast, while keeping the interior warm and dry. Made from a tough 3-layer Gelanots fabric this jacket boasts an impressive 20K/30K waterproof/breathability rating that I can vouch for. They have been creating stylish gear for the last few seasons and have, in my opinion, hit a homerun with the Nomad. Strafe is a fairly new outfit based in Aspen, CO. If you are looking for a bomber jacket to ring in 2013 with look no further that the Strafe Nomad. In addition to making you look good on the hill your outerwear is your main line of defense against the cold, wind and frozen precipitation. Nicely done, Strafe.In the world that skiers and snowboarders live in there are few items more important than the jacket. I will follow up once I get this shell out in the wild. I ordered a small and just tried it and its fit is spot on with the competing brand's medium, but maybe a touch more room, which is what I was looking for. I'm 5'11" / 170 lbs and originally bought a medium and it was super baggy on me. The only thing that threw me off was the sizing, but that may be due to the fit. I am replacing another high-end shell that cost a good bit more, but I feel like the Strafe Nomad is better thought out and more robust.

I'm hoping the cuffs will help keep the heat in and the wind out. I really like the integrated inner sleeve cuffs are a great idea and I am anxious to test them out as my arms get cold sometimes. To be clear, I haven't had a chance to test this wile skiing yet, but I will soon. This is my first Strafe piece and this thing is burly, yet very comfortable and super well designed with practical snow sports features. I've been on the lookout for a new snow shell for the past year and discovered Strafe through a close friend of mine who recommended I take a look at their shells. Water resistant and reliable YKK AquaGuard® (Coil) and VISLON® zippers and snaps.Ī very well thought out shell - runs big, at least for me.
